The United Planets Federation had the technology to end war on Earth immediately. They chose not to use it that way. This is the story of why, told by the people who were there.
The conceit
A documentary made for Earth audiences, conducted after the declaration of peace. Every subject is a key figure involved in the Federation's intervention: analysts, soldiers, diplomats, operatives. Each interview is self-contained. Together they tell the complete story of the invasion.
The interviewer is a Ukrainian war journalist who lived through both the war in her country and the Federation intervention that ended it. Her question, which runs through every conversation:
You had the technology to change everything immediately. Why still let people die?
By the end of the series, she has her answer.
Format
Standalone interviews. Each episode can be read alone. The full picture emerges across the series.
Setting
Near-future Earth. The United Planets Federation: 350 to 400 colonised systems, five major races, three hundred years of broad peace.
